Pricing & Markdown
- Clutch determines all pricing and markdowns.
- This is based on current market demand, seasonality, and item condition.
- We do not accept consignor-set minimum prices.
Consignment Period
- Items are consigned for a minimum of 90 days
- If an item does not sell within 60 days, it may be subject to markdowns. Consignors may request to pick up their items at the 60-day mark, prior to any markdowns being applied. Clutch is unable to notify consignors individually when items reach 60 days, so consignors are responsible for tracking this timeframe. Consignors may also log into their portal at any time to check item status.
- Consignors may retrieve items after 90 days (with notice to us in writing, at least five business days before pickup).
- If an item has not sold within six months (180 days), consignors should please claim the item(s) within 14 days, or item(s) become the property of Clutch.
No Guarantee of Sale
While Clutch works to price and display items competitively, we cannot guarantee that any item will sell during the consignment period.
Consignment Split
- Cash option: 50% to consignor / 50% to Clutch
- Store credit: 1.25 times the cash amount owed
- All items are sold on consignment, and paid out after sale, unless otherwise agreed upon
Payouts
Payouts are issued monthly. Payouts are issued on the 5th of each month for items sold in the previous month. Balances under $20 will roll over to the following payout cycle.
Payment options:
Payments will be made by check and can be mailed or picked up. We may add electronic payments/ACH payments as an option. Unclaimed balances after 6 months may convert to store credit.

Consignment FAQ
Can I set a minimum price?
No. Clutch sets all pricing and markdowns based on market demand.
What happens when items are marked down?
Markdowns help items sell. Once markdowns begin, consignors may request item pickup.
How will I know if my item sells?
Clutch provides each consignor with their own online portal, where you can log in and view sales and payout balance due to you, at any time.
How long does consignment last?
The standard period is 90 days.
When and how do I get paid?
Payouts are issued monthly. You may choose store credit (1.25x cash) or cash/check payment.
Do you ever buy items outright?
Yes. At Clutch’s discretion, some items may be offered a cash payout instead of consignment.
What if my item is lost or damaged?
While Clutch takes reasonable care of consigned items, resale environments carry inherent risks. Clutch is not responsible for loss or damage due to theft, fire, natural events, or customer handling.
What if items don’t sell?
Unsold items must be picked up within 14 days after the period ends or will be donated.
